Grinding, a poem by Lexi Flint

Day 27 of the Writer’s Digest April Poem a Day Challenge :write  a mechanical poem. Enjoy,

Lexi

The car was new.

Not new, new

but new to her

and now the breaks were grinding

just like her teeth

so she just turned up the radio

ignoring it

and rolled on down the road,

windows down,

sunroof cracked

allowing her hair and worries

to blow in the wind.
