#APRPAD Day 2 Poetry by Lexi Flint

At the end of the very longest day,

she stands beneath the shower head

the water falls like a cleansing rain

over her naked body,

mingling with her tears,

and washing away the remnants of his touch.

Her skin still burns

from the passion

of their final embrace.

She turns the handle to the right,

and shivers

from the cold

hard memories

she cannot wash away.
